Yay! We were so happy to see your posting this morning :-) We are anticipating God to do great things through your work there and are so excited to hear all about it, so keep the stories coming as often as you are able! We are praying continually for your ministry there and know you will make a difference for eternity. You are a shining example of God's love (Phil. 4:8-9) and we are so VERY proud of you! Lots of Love, Mom & Dad
P. S. Wilson says, "Go Get 'em, dad!"
We're praying for you every day. I'm in Port Angeles for a couple of days. I need a little dental care. Our house in Seattle is beautiful but we have to walk to the library for internet use so we will probably do that every afternoon. Enjoy your amazing two weeks--everyday. God is at work!!!!! Love, Jo Dee
To my brother from another mother! (That's you Ryan) I am so sorry I didn't get to talk to you before you left!! I'm an idiot. I just got distracted (for 3 days...) no excuse - anyway that's not why I am leaving this note.
I am praying for you man: that this would be a blessed time, that you would walk worthy of the calling you have recieved, that you would be a blessing to those who you are traveling with and those you meet (I know you will :)), that you would see the face of God in every child, that you would be humbled by God's love for all his children, that you would walk closer to Jesus each day and reflect Him to a lost and dying world, that you would win souls for the kingdom of God, that you would be full of joy unexplainable, and that your world would be changed forever by our beautiful LORD.
I am blessed by this (your blog): you can send messages to us back here at home that encourage us and let us know how to pray for you. It's incredible to see how you God is using you, and the effect you are having on the lives around you - He has prepared you for today, AND He has also prepared this day for you (Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in Your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there were none of them. - also - Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.) Walk in the knowledge that God has you where you must be.
I am excited to see you when you return, and to hear about your adventure. - MN
Ryan!
I'm so exited you are in Africa finally! I remember talking to you last Jan. at Sara/JP's wedding about your desires to go. You will LOVE it. I just got back from Zimbabwe this week and am headed to Swaziland on Friday....Everywhere I go in Africa I fall a little more in love with the culture, the people and the music!!! I am eager to hear what Burkina Faso is like...we'll have to grab some coffee in December and share stories!!!
One very important piece of scripture that has kept me going the past couple months is Matthew 26:11- "For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me." Seeing poverty and needy people every turn you make can be weary to the soul. I have found myself being so concerned with the physical needs of the people that I sometimes forget that our first call is to minister to Jesus first. Don't forget to spend time daily at His feet..this is the MOST important thing you can do while on your mission trip. Your love and delight for Him will spill out onto those around you. I will be praying for you brother!

It's so good to get your updates! We're reading them faithfully and know you will be impacted mightily by this step into the 3rd world. A friend just said to me... (she's in Afghanistan) that at least these frogs know they're in the boiling pot. So we here in the US might be a little deluded into thinking we're out of the hot water...but it's not so. We're all in this together! Love to you...and remember, you have been blessed to be a blessing. Don & Myrna
Yay, the blog works!!!!
This is so fun! I'm glad your heart is encouraged, I pray for that every day. God alone will be your sustainer. Exciting to see what that'll look like:) Talk soon.. kinda
Love,
Christina
Hi Pal: Hope your spirit-filled adventures are soaring to levels beyond your human comprehension. I know your demonstration of love & compassion to those you share the "GOOD NEWS" with will have such a tremendous impact on their lives that I can actually visualize Jesus giving you "high fives" as he adds their names to the "Lambs book of life." Will be looking forward to your next report Pal!!
Lots of Love,
Uncle Fester
Wow! I can't believe you got to speak to all those kids and SO MANY of them accepted Christ!!!! Ah, no reason to be fearful when God's spirit is so clearly moving. He has equipped you Ryan McGuire (II Timothy 1:7)!!! How's the heat? Did your live Typhoids survive? Miss you! Talk soon!!!
Huge Hug,
Christina
Junior: Mom showed me the group picture from Christina's Website that you forwarded of the 20+ Children @ the school in Ouagadougou. You all look sooo happy...(I spotted you right away!!!).
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to these."
God is doing great work through you son and it gives me chills to see you in action. I am going to frame that picture for my office.
I Love You and continue to Pray for you and your efforts throughout every day!!
Dad!! PS: Joe Torre is Out....
Ryan,
Honw great is our God! As your vision is increased for His unparalleled power to work in the lives of people around the world, I'm praying for you to be strengthened by His hand to work in that foreign land, to catch a glimpse of what He's doing worldwide (calling His children to come to Himself), and to be protected from the forces of darkness that would want to do you harm. I also think that you are showing the creative, humorous, and fun side of God by suddenly appearing in Christina's life at a point of one of her physically darkest hours. She is so encouraged by your relationship with her, and how God has arranged it all. Keep on with being a light and example of God, now in Burkina Faso and also in my daughter's life!
God's best to you!
Doug Ahmann
